Building NOS

Building NOS

A couple of weeks ago, we soft-launched NOS. This week, we officially kicked off the rides, launched the social media, and opened the Strava page. Even though Ortega has been around for two and a half years, I feel the same rush as if I were just starting out. It’s wild how much energy and motivation a new, exciting project can give you. Every morning, I wake up eager to take another step toward building what I envision Ortega and NOS to become.

Over the last month, I’ve been diving deep into the world of cycling apparel—exploring fabrics, cuts, fits, and technologies. Imagine comparing a basic cotton tee to a fully technical garment where every inch is engineered with purpose, and every panel is placed with intention. Cycling gear is its own art form. The entire jersey or bib becomes a canvas, with designs that often flow across the whole piece. That creative freedom is incredibly inspiring.

I’ll admit—it’s a bit overwhelming to understand the differences between fabrics and performance tiers. But we’re now closing in on our first samples, and I can’t wait to test them out. Feeling the practical differences for myself will be another step in learning and refining what we create.

Just as exciting as the gear itself is the community behind NOS. Lately, I’ve been riding more and more with friends, and the camaraderie, accountability, and shared effort that comes from training together is unmatched. The laughs, the work, the miles—it all builds something special.

Being able to merge the values of cycling with what Ortega stands for is the vision for NOS: a community built on friendship, discipline, and shared passion, all backed by a brand that believes in growth and excellence.

Exciting days here at Ortega HQ,

And as always—stay growing.
