The make of the hoodies

I don’t like exaggerating things when they’re simple. That’s how the hoodies came to life. It didn’t take me 4 months of meticulous work to come up with the design or the fit of the hoodie. In most cases when I’m working on a new garment it’s because I have had an idea in my head that I need to get out.

Getting the initial idea out of my head into the real world won’t take me more than a day and a few coffees. Usually as a bad drawing, an entry on my notes app or few posts collected in my Pinterest board.

Once the initial idea is on paper, a drawing or a file, I might make some subtle changes to take it to its “release form”. I might work with it for a few days or a couple weeks but I don’t like to mess a lot with what I liked in the first place.

Once the idea is real, I order the samples and test.

In the hoodies case, it’s a slightly revised fit from the hoodies we released last year. I didn’t have to re-invent the wheel. I knew what I wanted so it was pretty easy.

The hoodie is probably our garment that I have gotten more compliments for it and requests to bring it back. This mixed with my personal experiences lived this year gave birth to “Life can’t be perfect, clothing can”. I really believe our hoodie is one the best hoodies I have ever owned so it wasn’t hard to come up with that.

For the logo, I chose the more classic version of the logo. Simply because I have been enjoying more the aesthetics of the script logo lately.

Sometimes the hardest part about getting anything done is the first step. If you have an idea, a creative desire for anything, let it out. I believe that when you get an idea, if the idea is not developed, it will find someone else. Have you ever seen something that you thought to yourself a few months back “this will be a good idea” but never pursued it?

It’s happened to me before, so when I get an idea, I take it to the real world.

I’m not saying that every single idea or creative desire is worth pursuing. But it’s worth taking a look at it in the real world.

Happy new year everyone, hope this year is good to all of you.

Stay growing,

Santi
